About the event
Your first step to becoming a CERT member is to take our FEMA CERT Basic Training, which is a 18-hour course taught by our own experienced and certified instruction team. During your training, you will learn and engage in hands-on skill building in the following subject areas:
* Disaster Preparedness * Fire Safety & Hazardous Materials * Disaster Medical Operations * Light Search and Rescue * CERT Organization * Disaster Psychology * Terrorism * Final Functional Exercise
The course will result in a FEMA CERT Basic Course certificate of completion and enable you to access the rest of the FEMA and Florida State Emergency Response Team curricula, which include hundreds of free professional development and emergency response courses ranging from advanced medical training to biological and chemical threats to professional writing, and everything in between.
