About the event
The first step to joining our USF Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is to take the classroom portion of the CERT Basic Training along with completing a hands-on training exercise to test your skills. This course is being offered in the Fall semester and will be taught by certified FEMA CERT Instructors. The knowledge gained will help prepare you for a disaster by going through what you need to know to help prepare you for a disaster while providing valuable information on how you can assist in the response to a disaster event. After the basic training, you will have access to several advanced training classes and be activated by the Hillsborough County Office of Emergency Management before, during, or after a disaster.
